About me

My name is Shannon Chen.
I am Taiwanese, born and raised in Auckland.

I started my career as an Oral Health Therapist (providing preventative dental care and maintenance such as dental hygiene, dental therapy and orthodontic support), so prioritising people's needs and understanding the importance of providing a positive experience (especially in a nerve wracking environment like a dental clinic) have become second nature. As I ventured into different career paths including real estate and marketing, I realised this is the case for many situations whether it's related to health or buying a home.

These experiences have shaped how strongly I feel about user experiences from a customer perspective, and as a provider. I found myself wanting to create solutions for all kinds of services, which led me to going back to school for user experience design.

I'm grateful for the diverse path I've taken, as it has provided me with a unique blend of experiences that I can utilise. My goal is to create accessible, and intuitive solutions that improve the quality of peoples lives.
